How is Rhinoplasty Performed?
The incision is usually made inside the nose so it is not visible. The cartilage is raised, allowing Dr. Richard Swift to make necessary alterations to the individual’s nose.

If the nose is going to be enhanced, cartilage may be used from the septum. In the case that he is operating on your nose for medical reasons, Dr. Swift will adjust your septum to the proper position in order to make it easier to breath. As the procedure is becoming completed, Dr. Swift will close your incisions and the nose will be bandaged for optimal healing.

Preparing for Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure, which means you will be able to leave the clinic after the approximately two-hour-long surgery. You will be given anesthesia or IV sedation in order to put you under and prevent you from feeling any unpleasantness.

Rhinoplasty Recovery
Recovery may cause your nose to be swollen, tender, or bruised for several days, but the majority of patients are able to return to work within a week of the treatment. At first, the swelling with temporarily mask the results, but as it goes down, the true nature of your nose treatment will show itself. However, it could take up to a year to see full results of the procedure.
