How Is Breast Enhancement Performed?
In the case of implants, a specially contoured implant (saline or silicone) will be implanted either over or behind the chest muscle, and then the breasts are wrapped with gauze to help minimize swelling and bruising. You may have some discomfort as the swelling subsides but will be given over-the-counter analgesics to help minimize this discomfort.

For fat transfer (also known as fat injection or fat grafting), you will be put under general anesthesia, and fat will be either suctioned by hand or through the use of liposuction, purified and separated, and then injected into the areas of the breast where you desire more volume.

Your breasts or the area around them (such as the nipple or areola) may be swollen, tender, or bruised after the surgery. You may be asked to wear a compression garment to help the skin adjust to the new breast shape (in the case of an augmentation, reduction, or lift). You may also be advised not to lift or carry things for a specific timeframe. If you have young children or infants around the home, you may wish to have someone available to help tend to them during your recovery time.

How Much Does Breast Enhancement Cost?
Costs for breast enhancement will vary depending on the extent of surgery or the number of treatments needed to achieve your desired result. Most insurance plans do not cover plastic surgery or specific cosmetic treatments.
