Neck Lift in Manhattan, NYC
Often, people undergo a facelift only to see that their neck still looks saggy and droopy. A neck lift performed by board-certified Manhattan plastic surgeon and general surgeon Richard W. Swift, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S. can help reverse the signs of aging and can add definition and contour to the neck, making it look more well-defined and by extension, younger.
What Is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a series of small incisions wherein skin and underlying muscles are tightened while excess skin and fat are removed, giving your neck a more youthful appearance. It does not affect the brow, eyelids, cheeks, or other areas of the face that can be marked by wrinkles or sagging skin.
Benefits of a Neck Lift
Many people who have undergone a neck lift tell us they feel a renewed sense of youth and vigor! In addition, they enjoy the following benefits:

Preparing for a Neck Lift
The procedure typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on your desired results. If you are having a neck lift procedure in conjunction with a facelift or brow lift, the surgery time will vary accordingly. An incision will be made behind the ear in an inconspicuous place and often will be hidden in the hairline. Excess skin is carefully trimmed and removed and neck muscles are tightened. The end result is a smoother, more youthful-looking neck.
Neck Lift Recovery
Dressings from a neck lift will be removed 1-3 days after the procedure. Most patients return to work within 1-2 weeks, and swelling usually goes down within a few weeks. Sports or exercise can be resumed in 3 weeks and stitches will be removed within 7-10 days.
Is a Neck Lift Right for Me?
A neck lift may be right for you if you have recently lost weight, want to reduce the look of wrinkles or rope-like muscles around your neck (particularly after a facelift), want to highlight the look of your neck in proportion to the rest of your face, and are between the ages of 30 and 80. If you have recently lost weight or want to combine specific cosmetic procedures (such as a facelift or hand rejuvenation) to restore a youthful appearance, a neck lift may be right for you.
How Much Does a Neck Lift Cost?
Costs for your neck lift will vary depending on the extent of surgery or the number of treatments needed to achieve your desired result. Most insurance plans do not cover plastic surgery or specific cosmetic treatments. Dr. Swift accepts payment via cash, check, or credit card, as well as Prosper Healthcare Lending as a financing option.
