What is Daxxify?
The latest alternative to Botox, Daxxify, also known as daxibotulinumtoxina-lanm or Daxi, was developed by the people at Revance Therapeutics, and is a neuromodulator that use injectable botulinum toxin-A, to help patients smooth wrinkles and provide a more youthful appearance. Similar to Botox, Xeomin, Dysport and Jeuveau, Daxxify is used to treat dynamic wrinkles or expression lines that occur as a result of repeated facial muscle movement.

Treat Frown Lines & More
Daxxify was recently FDA-approved to treat the glabellar lines, or frown lines. Harsh frown lines are one of the most common signs of aging and Daxxify works, similarly to Botox, as it can help to relax the facial muscles beneath the skin and stop the contractions – giving patients a more natural, youthful look.

How Does Daxxify Work?
Daxxify is similar to Botox, as it is a neuromodulator injectable that helps to smooth out dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles occur from repeated muscle contractions along the face. When we smile, frown, cry or make any facial expressions, these contractions will cause lines to develop over time. Like Botox, Daxxify stifles these contractions for a time, and allows the skin to heal and smooth itself out.

How is Daxxify Different from Botox?
Daxxify is very similar to Botox and other neuromodulators, as it works by blocking nerve signals that are sent from the brain to the facial muscles, temporarily stopping the facial muscle contractions and giving the skin the time it needs to heal.

One of the hallmarks of Daxxify is that it is very long lasting. This is because of the peptides involved in its design. Unlike other neuromodulators, Daxxify is 100% synthetic, and uses no human or animal products. According to the team at Revance, it uses a proprietary formula of Peptide Exchange Technology. Depending on your specific issues, one may be better than the other. However, in many cases, Daxxify has been proven to provide longer lasting results. Some patients who may see results lasting for 6 months using Botox, would see their results last for 8-12 months using Daxxify. Again, this is dependent on the patient and everyone is different. SIde Effects & Risks
Daxxify is like any other neuromodulator injectable, in that side effects are minimal as long as you are using the correct concentrations, and being injected by an experienced professional, who is certified to provide neurotoxin injections. Some patients may experience mild redness, swelling, bruising, and slight discomfort – but this is normal, and should pass in a few days time.
