How Is Body Contouring Performed?
The specific process depends on which body contouring procedure is being performed. In some cases, fat is liquefied by laser heat and suctioned out through the use of small tubes called cannula. Excess skin may be removed, particularly in the case of a tummy tuck, thigh lift, body lift, arm lift, or labia reduction. In the case of a fat transfer, the fat that has been removed is purified and separated from the rest of the fluid and other materials so it can be re-injected into the area where more volume is desired.
